Amy Nelson has written for professional sports and entertainment industries, but she is happiest when her work advances human understanding and appreciation of nature. As communications director for the ecological planning and design firm Biohabitats, Amy can often be found translating technical jargon into plain, compelling English and reminding brilliant scientists and engineers that most people do not use terms like “thalweg” and “impervious surface” in everyday language. Amy is also the editor of Leaf Litter, an e-publication for people involved in ecological restoration, conservation planning, and regenerative design.
