Wellington “Buddy” Huffaker, IV, is the executive director of the Aldo Leopold Foundation in Baraboo, Wisconsin. With an academic background in landscape architecture and plant ecology, Buddy joined the organization as a seasonal fellow in 1996.
Subsequent professional development in finance and management led Buddy to be recognized as an Executive Scholar in Not-for-Profit Management by Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. He has participated in three White House conferences on conservation related issues, headed the $7.5 million campaign to construct and endow the Aldo Leopold Legacy Center and, most recently, served as Executive Producer for Green Fire, an Emmy Award winning documentary film about Aldo Leopold’s life and legacy. Buddy has contributed to several books and addressed audiences across the country on Leopold’s legacy and call for a land ethic.
