Christine Carr


Christine Carr uses photography to address the pervasive effects of air pollution, the traumatic effects of climate change-related events, and the disproportionate environmental impacts on poor and marginalized communities. She is a 2020 recipient of a Puffin Foundation Grant, a Photolucida Critical Mass Finalist, and Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Fellowship recipient. Christine has exhibited in solo shows at Albion College, Texas Tech University, and the University of La Verne, and in numerous group shows throughout the United States and internationally. Her work has been published in Harper’s Magazine, Musée Magazine, and the 5th edition of Exploring Color Photography by Robert Hirsch. She was an Assistant Professor at both Iowa State and Hollins University, and since 2010, has participated in six artist residencies.
