Janis Bristol Alcorn, Ph.D., is a biologist and anthropologist who has lived and worked in Asia and Latin America. She is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Manitoba’s Natural Resources Institute, which is deeply rooted in resilience thinking, and serves on the Steering Group of the IUCN Commission on Environmental, Economic and Social Policy (CEESP). She is currently Deputy Director for Social and Environmental Soundness at the global Forest Carbon, Markets and Communities (FCMC) project in Washington, D.C.
