As an early childhood educator, Joy Dubé uses poetry and writing as a way to help children discover deep truths about themselves in a second, acquired language (French). She herself writes poetry to understand the world and the human relationships with Nature, and with one another. Joy was born in Trinidad, and grew up in Canada. She graduated with a French literature degree from Université Laval, Québec. She now lives in a beautiful part of the world, Vancouver Island, where she is inspired by the sea, the unceded land and territories of the Snuneymuwx First Nation peoples, and under the wide sky above it all.
