I grew up in Manchester. As a kid, I spent as much time as possible outside, riding my bike, climbing trees and kicking a ball around at the park. I collected leaves and flowers and stuck them in my nature journal and I even had a pet snail for an afternoon. At the weekend, my family would drive out to the peak district to go hiking, rock climbing and picnicking.
When I wasn’t outside, I was reading or writing.
In 2010, I discovered nature writing and I haven’t looked back since. I had the amazing opportunity to spend 6 months living in Cornwall, doing an MA in Writing, Nature and Place at the University of Exeter Cornwall Campus.
After the MA, I spent a year living in Nottingham before making the leap across the North Sea and settling in Amsterdam. I still try to spend as much time as possible outdoors, exploring my new home and my fellow (furry and feathered) inhabitants.
