Dear Reader,
Happy new year to our wonderful community! We have several beautiful new essays, poems, videos, photographs, and interviews for you to enjoy on our Digital Press, including new essays in our latest Questions for a Resilient Future series, What can we learn from the soil about our fundamental interconnectedness?, curated by Editorial Fellow Dr. Akilah R. Martin and Board Member Orrin Williams.
We would also like to begin the year by expressing our appreciation for all of the poets, writers, and artists who submitted work to the 2025 open call for Humans & Nature Press Digital. We received a record-breaking number of submissions. Thank you for trusting us with your creative work.Â
Given our small editorial team and our multi-step review process, we are unable to provide a firm date for responses, but we will provide an update on social media one month before decisions are complete, and all submitters will receive notice via Submittable one month after our social media update.
Please note: As stated in our submission guidelines, concurrent submissions are welcome. If you agree to publication elsewhere, please withdraw your piece from the Center’s Submittable.
Stay tuned for updates on our social media channels (@humansandnature) and via this newsletter, and thank you for joining us in considering what seeds we are all planting for the future. We are grateful for the thoughtfulness, time, and care that your creative work represents, and we will be in touch again soon.
