As the Executive Editor of Humans & Nature Press Books, I’m absolutely thrilled to see the Elementals book series is now available to every naturally curious reader out there. This is a project with such diverse perspectives about the living forces fundamental to our existence and well-being: earth, air, water, and fire. But like other Humans & Nature Press publications, this one doesn’t simply delve into the many manifestations of the elementals in our lives; our contributors—a magnificent group of writers, artists, activists, and poets—ask how we can care-fully dwell in right relation to these vital forces that make all life possible. The kaleidoscopic beauty of the writing awakens us to what flows through our bodies and through our various landscapes, and what we can do to make both more vital. I am beyond excited for readers to go on their own journeys through these pages and immerse themselves in the elemental worlds we share.
