Robert Kurzban is the Development Director for the Garces Foundation, based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is an author of two books, Why Everyone (Else) Is A Hypocrite, which discusses the origins of human inconsistency and, more recently, The Hidden Agenda of the Political Mind (with Jason Weeden), which looks at the roots of people’s political attitudes. He received his PhD from the University of California Santa Barbara in 1998, and, during his 20 years as an academic, published more than 100 articles and chapters on topics including morality, cooperation, self-control, mating, and political attitudes. His work has been published in scholarly outlets such as Science and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences and popular outlets such as The Washington Post.
In 2018 he completed his Master of Public Administration degree at the Fels School of Government before moving into the non-profit space. He is also the co-founder and CEO of RE: Writers, a freelance writing company that creates, refines, and improves written content for financial services companies, academics, and non-profits. He also fosters dogs.
