Tom Montgomery Fate is the author of five books of nonfiction; the most recent is Cabin Fever: A Suburban Father’s Search for the Wild (Beacon Press, 2011), a nature memoir. His essays have appeared in the Chicago Tribune, the Boston Globe, Orion, and the Iowa Review, among others, and they have aired on NPR, PRI, and Chicago Public Radio. He is professor of English at the College of DuPage in Chicago.
